Casa Preschool & Kindergarten

Ages 3 - 5

In our Casa program, children from ages 3-5 years old enter a world of discovery, where their "absorbent minds" are nurtured through hands-on learning experiences.

Our Montessori-trained teachers observe and tailor experiences to meet each child's developmental needs. The day begins with a three-hour work cycle that provides ample time for independent work and small group lessons. In this mixed-age environment, children develop social skills like mentorship, collaboration, and leadership, reflecting real-world social dynamics. The focus on independence, cognitive growth, and collaboration helps each child flourish at their own pace.

The Casa classroom, which includes multi-age groups of PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten students, is designed to engage children's natural curiosity and foster a love of learning, with materials that encourage both self-discovery and mastery.

  • Children are introduced to the world around them through geography, culture, and nature studies. They explore maps, learn about different cultures and customs, and engage in hands-on scientific investigations in areas like Botany, Zoology, and Physical Science, sparking a lifelong curiosity about the natural world.

  •  Everyday tasks like watering plants, preparing meals, and washing dishes help children build coordination, concentration, and a sense of responsibility. These practical life activities empower children to care for themselves and their environment while strengthening their independence.

  • Through specially designed materials that engage all the senses, children develop essential cognitive skills. They learn to classify, order, and discover mathematical relationships, forming the foundation for future academic success.

  • Our Peace Education curriculum fosters empathy, teamwork, self-regulation, and peaceful problem-solving. The multi-age classroom environment helps create sibling-like bonds, where older children mentor younger ones, promoting kindness, understanding, and positive social interactions.

  • As students grow, they take on leadership roles, guiding younger peers and reinforcing their own skills. The Montessori materials evolve with the child, becoming more complex as their cognitive abilities and curiosity expand, ensuring continuous development and challenge.

  • Casa students develop fine motor skills through activities like writing, artwork, and practical life exercises, while outdoor play provides opportunities to strengthen large motor coordination. Our beautiful outdoor spaces—riverfront promenade, patio, and nearby playgrounds—offer children a chance to enjoy physical activity and explore the world around them.
