About Green Ivy Summer Camp

Green Ivy Summer Camp for Little Kids at Battery Park Montessori provides a warm and enriching summer camp experience for children ages 2-5 (must turn 2 by the start of their camp week). Guided by current best practices for early childhood development and education, we provide a playful, engaging, and safe “first camp” experience for your child. Plus kids get exposure to languages during our Spanish and Mandarin weeks!

Registration is by the week, and each week is highlighted with a fun, engaging theme!

We are thrilled to be able to successfully run our summer camp despite the limitations of COVID. Summer will look a little different, and thanks to the efforts of our staff and teachers, campers will be able to safely engage with teachers and friends to ensure a joyful experience.

Our nurturing staff, typically current and former Green Ivy teachers along with returning camp staff, provide a caring and supportive environment and create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere to facilitate connection and friendship. We use a maximum ratio of 5 children to 1 staff member. In the early weeks of camp, we use smaller ratios to support optimal health and safety practices and to nurture campers as they adjust to a new experience. Children are in groups of 5-10 campers and generally grouped by age.

During camp your child will connect with peers and with nature, gain personal and social confidence, and make friends. Through hands on, developmentally-tailored educational activities, children gain confidence, independence, and skills. Our program provides excellent pre-academic and social preparation for children entering preschool programs.

We believe that children thrive when provided with opportunities to connect with nature, and we spend time enjoying outdoor play and exploration in beautiful Battery Park City. Children also have the opportunity to enjoy fun in the sun on our private outdoor patio, which features a child-maintained garden and water play.

Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up include spending time with peers and supervised by camp staff. This includes a variety of light activities, including art, soft play in the movement room or on the patio, and storytime.
