About Green Ivy Summer Camp

Green Ivy Summer Camp at Battery Park Montessori provides a warm and enriching summer camp experience for children ages 2-5 (rising Kindergarten). Campers must turn 2 by the start of their camp week.

Guided by current best practices for early childhood development and education, we provide a playful, engaging, and safe “first camp” experience for your child. Counselors who speak English, Spanish and/or Mandarin will supplement camp activities for exposure in all three languages. Water play activities are scheduled every Friday morning!

Our nurturing staff, typically current and former Green Ivy teachers along with returning camp staff, provide a caring and supportive environment and create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere to facilitate connection and friendship. We use a maximum ratio of 5 children to 1 staff member. In the early weeks of camp, we use lower ratios to nurture campers as they adjust to a new experience. Children are in groups of 5-10 campers and generally grouped by age.

During camp your child will connect with peers and with nature, gain personal and social confidence, and make friends. Through hands-on, developmentally-tailored educational activities, children gain confidence, independence, and skills. Our program provides excellent pre-academic and social preparation for children entering preschool programs and rising kindergarteners.

We believe that children thrive when provided with opportunities to connect with nature, and we spend time enjoying outdoor play and exploring our beautiful Battery Park City neighborhood. Children also have the opportunity to enjoy fun in the sun on our private outdoor patio, which features a child-maintained garden and water play.

Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up include spending time with peers and supervised by camp staff. This includes a variety of light activities, including art, soft play in the movement room or on the patio, and storytime.
