Kamal is a seasoned and award-winning educator with over two decades of transformative experience across diverse educational landscapes. Her career spans roles in New York City, New Delhi, Warsaw, and Singapore, where she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to holistic, inclusive, and forward-thinking education.
Kamal’s journey in early childhood education began with a passion for child development, which she nurtured while teaching high school students. This foundation led her to serve as the Director of Early Childhood Education at Modern School, one of New Delhi’s oldest and most respected progressive private institutions. In this leadership role, she championed pedagogical practices that emphasize the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young learners.
Currently based in New York, Kamal is deeply engaged in educational equity initiatives. She contributes to nonprofit programs by delivering impactful lessons on nutrition and entrepreneurship, and actively supports community development through education. Her exposure to the Montessori philosophy has further influenced her pedagogical approach, leading her to work closely within early childhood classrooms at Battery Park Montessori
Although professionally trained as a nutritionist, with a Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition from the University of Delhi, Kamal's unwavering passion lies in shaping learning environments that empower students. She is a firm believer in the inherent potential of every child. She strives to provide meaningful and enriching learning experiences that help students explore their identity, purpose, and place in the world.
Her academic and professional credentials further include a Diploma in Innovation in Teaching from OEP Finland and certification as a Microsoft Educator for 21st-century teaching skills. She has served on the Mentor Advisory Council for BUILD NYC, where she supports youth entrepreneurship, and represents India as an Ambassador for True Curriculum, an innovative EdTech platform redefining curriculum accessibility and cultural relevance.
Born into a family of veterans, Kamal grew up immersed in the diversity and complexity of Indian culture. She is also a proud parent of UWCSEA, Singapore alumni—an experience that continues to shape her global outlook and reinforce her belief in intercultural understanding as a cornerstone of education.
Beyond her professional life, Kamal finds grounding and inspiration in nature, yoga, and her ever-growing community of students and educators. Her journey remains one of purposeful service, driven by a deep belief in the transformative power of education.
