PARENT-CHILD MONTESSORI | AGES Walking-2y

If you have ever wanted to learn more about the Montessori approach and have wondered if a Montessori education would be right for your child and family, we encourage you to come and experience it first hand!

In this class, lead by one of Battery Park Montessori's own teachers, children and parents will be introduced to activities designed to foster curiosity, concentration, and independence. Children will build confidence and skills through work with authentic Montessori activities and materials. Families will gain an understanding of Montessori philosophy, mindful observation of their child, and insight on preparing an environment that fosters concentration and supports and enhances their child’s innate learning potential. This class will be held in our Toddler classroom, and is designed for children who have begun walking independently to age two. For children walking to 2 years. This is a caregiver participation class.

CHESS AT THREE | AGES 2-6

The Chess At Three approach teaches much more than the rudimentary rules of chess. Chess At Three students also learn: The Importance of Sportsmanship, Literacy, Chess History, and Math, just to name a few. Lessons include interactive moments, physical movements (chessercizes), and guidelines for game play at each level of development. Chess at Three utilizes a unique cast of characters, in fun and interactive stories. Through these stories children progressively learn to play and develop a love for chess. Our stories focus on why chess pieces move in their own unique ways and are supported by activities that cement chess knowledge in your child's mind.

This is a drop-off class.

ABOUT CHESS AT THREE

Chess At Three has an international network of Certified Storytellers (Chess Tutors) who provide one-on-one lessons and group sessions. We utilize a unique cast of characters, in fun and interactive stories helping children progressively learn to play chess. Our stories focus on why chess pieces move in their own unique ways and are supported by activities that cement chess knowledge in your child’s mind.

CANTA Y BAILA CONMIGO™: MUSIC TOGETHER IN SPANISH | AGES 0-5

Take a journey into Spanish language and its cultures through the magical world of music! With Canta y Baila Conmigo™ you and your child will be transported as you sing, dance and play along to the irresistible sounds and rhythms of Spanish speaking countries. This is a Spanish immersion music class.

This is a caregiver participation class.

MUSIC TOGETHER IN MANDARIN | AGES 0-5

Introduce your family to Mandarin through music! A trained Music Together teacher speaks fluent Mandarin and incorporates the language into songs and activities. It is a great way to introduce or support Mandarin study in your babies and children, but please note this is not a Mandarin immersion music class or foreign language class. English is also used.

This is a caregiver participation class.

MUSIC TOGETHER | AGES 0-5

Activities focus on adult/child interaction rather than child/child interaction, so children of different ages (such as siblings) can enjoy class together. Also, many childhood educators consider mixed-age groupings beneficial and the process of music development throughout this age range is similar. Adults, regardless of their own musical ability, find it fun and easy to help create an environment that supports any child in achieving basic music competence. Children participate at their own level in classes of mixed ages by singing, moving, chanting, listening, and exploring musical instruments.

This is a caregiver participation class.
