March/April 2020 Admissions Update

Welcome Future Battery Park Montessori Families!

Thank you for your interest in Battery Park Montessori! We are looking forward to sharing our extraordinary program and the Green Ivy community with you!

We know that families are focused on keeping themselves and others healthy right now. As a future-focused organization, Green Ivy Schools is well-equipped and prepared to support offsite extended learning using 21st-century technology. While off campus, our faculty has maintained our rich and engaging trilingual Montessori program using our remote learning tools to not only deliver, but amplify, the educational experience. When campus reopens, we know our program will be stronger for these preparations and efforts.

In the Admissions Office, we are developing an online admissions experience that will guide and inform you about every aspect of our unique and effective program, including a virtual visit to our campus. Your virtual admissions experience will include video and photo presentations of our school and each of our program divisions: Nursery (Twos) and Casa (Preschool-Kindergarten).

During our live, online events and meetings you will be:

  • Inspired by our unique and constructive trilingual approach
  • Informed about your child's enriched school day
  • Immersed in a virtual tour of our beautiful campus
  • Invited to meet staff and teachers and to ask questions

In preparation, create your account on Ravenna and complete your family profile. Also, join our mailing list for more information about our online tours and other events, and to be informed when campus reopens for in-person events.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing our school with you!

Welcome to Battery Park Montessori, NYC’s only trilingual Montessori program and one of just a few in the world.

We are a warm, diverse and vibrant community of families dedicated to the internationally respected child-led Montessori approach.

In 2013, we launched in a beautiful riverside location in Battery Park City, with a view of the Statue of Liberty and tucked away among the trees. Our vision was to bring a world class early childhood learning center to the downtown New York City community while offering New York children a quiet and removed haven for peaceful, introspective learning.

We stand out among peer schools in the exquisite natural beauty of our school setting and our commitment to nurturing independence in children. We are also the only Montessori school in the city with an early childhood “maker space” and a fully functioning farm plot managed by our students.

We are proud to welcome families from every walk of life, across New York and worldwide. There are more than 20 countries represented among our students and numerous languages spoken. Because we are located near several large banks and other corporations, we have families from as near as Tribeca, FiDi, and SoHo and others who commute in from DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights and Jersey City!

But our program is only part of what makes us special. What we hear again and again is how warm and welcoming we are as a community, from our Admissions Team to our Parent Ambassadors. We treat every family “like family” and do our best to help each one find the right fit for their child. We believe there is a school for every child, and we want to do everything we can to help your family make the right choice.

Another unique feature of our school is that our founder, Dr. Jennifer Jones, remains involved in our growth and program development. Dr. Jones is a leader in the field of education with a passionate commitment to our school, plus the experience of having developed over 20 schools and having raised a child in New York City. Look for her at some of our tours and open houses!

Dr. Jones founded our school on eight pillars of belief about what makes a school exceptional. We encourage you to learn more about our pillars and join us for one of our upcoming events for prospective families to experience our program for yourself. We provide tours and open houses to give you a full sense of our classrooms and teachers.

Our Admissions Team is here and ready to help with whatever you need. Feel free to reach out to them at admissions.bpm@greenivy.com or call (212) 235-2304.

We are all looking forward to meeting you and learning more about your own vision for your child’s education and how we can help you find just the right fit!

Yours truly
